CM91: Check the Simplest Thing First

The PO had advertised the bike as not being able to find neutral.  Though it had been serviced by a highly reputable local shop just five months ago.  So if the bike lost neutral it happened within the last few months.  I assumed that the problem was something deep in the clutch or even the gearbox.

But Clymer's outlines the basic clutch adjustment that should be done on a regular basis, which literally involves loosening a nut and turning a screw and takes all of five minutes, even for the Rookie.

So I set the screw back to what Clymer recommended, and lo and behold... Not only does the bike find neutral but it finds all gears pretty cleanly.

You're supposed to tighten the adjust screw until you begin to feel resistance and then back off slightly.  But the screw was in very, very tight, leaving me to wonder how it got that way between the last servicing and whenever the PO said he lost neutral.
