Viola: Roloc Session #1

Started in on Viola's frame.  Tried a 3M 150 grit sandblaster sponge, the green 50-grit and yellow 80-grit Roloc bristles, and the 3M sanding wheel.

Found that the green Roloc was pretty much the best tool for the job.  Still took a lot of work, multiple passes, and a good bit of pressure to get some of the spots clean.

Did the sanding by the closet, using the new lamp.  The lamp seemed bright enough indoors, but seemed dim in the garage hanging at the top of the closet door.  Need to try doubling up, perhaps?

Wonder how long each Roloc disc usually lasts?

Was using the 2" disc today.  Could the 1" work for the nooks and crannies?

Need to see how quickly the bare metal rusts after it's been sanded.  It could take a few sessions to do the whole frame and if it rusts between sessions I'll need to redo the old sections each time.

With all the paint dust on the frame, I felt I had to rinse it down with the hose afterwards.  Sprayed it with a healthy dose of WD40 afterwards, but the water rinse isn't helping matters.
