Odd, why is Roxy's front axle flush with the holder? Compare to Viola's below, which is sticking out (though missing the cotter pin).

Red: Rear Brake Refurbishing
Continued work on the frozen rear brake. Attached the brake arm lever and it still wouldn't budge. But while giving it some whacks with the rubber mallet, I noticed that while the cam wasn't turning, the entire backing plate was spinning around within the hub. So I kept whacking it, slowly spinning it around, until eventually it got loose enough to where I could pull it off.
Discovered the whole thing was just frozen with age and corrosion. The cam was stuck so tight that I had to knock it out with the ballpeen. But mechanically everything seemed sound. Once I'd cleaned it all up by sanding it down and using liberal amounts of WD40, it all went back together nicely.

Red: Stand Before You Walk
Red gets off the ground for the first time.
Tried to remove the rear brake, but was completely stymied. The thing wouldn't budge. Asking the Yahoo group for advice.
Was glad to see the seat pan fit, but looks like it's a different tank mount (as compared to Viola).

Red: Unboxing and Roloc bristle discs
Got some new parts and old parts, namely an original center stand along with new hardware for it from Bike Bandit. Also got a used rear axle along with hardware.
Tested the Roloc bristle pad (green) on the center stand. Seems to work pretty well, but still not the "magic" I was hoping for when it comes to nooks and crannies.

Astrid: Scrambled Eggs
The old Evapo-rust in Astrid's tank was looking decidedly murky, so figured I'd dump and refill it. Surprised to find something looking like scrambled eggs had coagulated at the bottom. Not sure what it is, perhaps the Yahoo crew can identify. I dumped out all the old liquid (tank looked like it was vomiting), then decided to risk rinsing the inside of the tank out with the hose to loosen as much of the "egg" as possible. Got about 90% out in the end.
Also tested the reserve line to see if it was clear, and it was.
Finally, refilled the tank with what I had left of the Evapo-rust. Also filtered out what I had used on Red's fork bridge and added that in, too. Ended up with more than before, so I expect I'll knock out more rust with this batch.
